Who CPFM is for
CPFM is designed for portfolio managers, investment analysts and buy-side professionals. It also suits beginners and career changers, because optional preparation classes cover the foundations first. No prior finance experience is required to start.
Six steps to certification
CPFM brings together 56 classes in a clear, six-step journey:
- Preparation (optional): 14 classes to build or refresh the foundations.
- Core (required): 10 classes covering the essential knowledge of the program.
- Specialization: choose at least 3 of 12 classes in your chosen field.
- Electives: choose at least 2 of 20 classes aligned with your goals.
- Final exam: taken once all required class exams are passed.
- Certificate: earn the CPFM credential.
What you will learn
The program combines the foundations of global financial markets with advanced money management. Topics include market analysis, valuation, quantitative methods, technical analysis, risk management, portfolio design, fintech applications, AI tools and algorithmic models.
CPFM covers the full investment cycle and long-term wealth management, not only short-term trading. The skills match roles in asset management, brokerage, research and financial advisory.
Study at your own pace
CPFM is self-paced and built for busy schedules. Most learners complete it over a few months of part-time study.
What comes next
Capital Academy is now working with a university partner on how CPFM and future certifications will be co-issued. Explore the CPFM certification page or read about the curriculum map behind it.
